SUSTAINABLE HOUSE DAY

WHEN: Sunday 12th September 10am-4pm
WHAT:  Sustainable House Day is Australia wide.  SHARE will open 4 inspiring houses in the Daylesford area which demonstrate different aspects of sustainable living.  See the benefits of northern orientation, passive solar, photovoltaics, solar hot water, micro wind generation and double glazing.  Learn about the benefits of thermal mass, insulation, draft stopping and different options for grey water and on-site sewerage treatment. Experience walls built of rammed earth, strawbale, ecoboard and zincalume. Stroll through productive and attractive food gardens.  See how a beautifully designed, large, comfortable family home can run off the grid on renewable energy and then in contrast, visit a small, wheelchair accessible house with a flexible design that provides everything one person needs to live with a small footprint. If you want to read a bit more about the stories of these houses and see some pictures, you can check out the links below to find out more about the rammed earth, double glazed house; the small, accessible house at Lakeside Farm; the stylish, off-grid family home and the Peter Lees designed strawbale which utilises lots off recycled materials.

HOW: Visit sustainablehouseday.com to get addresses, maps and features of each open house open in the Daylesford area.  Addresses will be posted on the site 2 weeks before the event.

“If I am admitted to membership of the Association I agree to be bound by the Rules of the Association for the time being in force.”

Have you got the Rules of the Association available on the web site for people to read before they sign up?

Or is it that people will have already come to a meeting and have that info before they go online?
