Earth Exhibit

Calling all Artists & Photographers

eARTh (Earth Art) Exhibit in Support of the Creswick Railway Workshops Association (CRWA)

You are invited to send an Expression of Interest for an art exhibit planned for the summer of 2011. Ephemeral art is defined as transitory and existing only briefly, with the intention that the works will disintegrate over time and return to the earth, utilising no or low cost organic elements found in nature to create sculpture, images and other creative works.

Organic materials used may include, but are not restricted to wood, rocks, leaves, bones, hide, seeds, pods, ice, water, wool, mud, fruit, shells, paper, vegetables, sand, flowers, straw bales, natural fibres, soil, fire, feathers, handmade paper and more.

As the work is typically transient and made on location, it is proposed to invite entries for an online photo exhibition. From these entries, judged and winning photos will be professionally printed and form an exhibition. The exhibit will be at former Goods Shed at the Creswick Railway Workshops, which is presently being renovated to serve as a permanent gallery, performance and learning space for the Creswick community.

Here is an opportunity to be creative, support a local community project, possibly sell your work and win a prize.

Please email getpaula@iinet.com.au or call (03) 5345 8189 to express your interest in placing an entry in the exhibit, or for more information.

You will then be notified of upcoming events and receive a link to the entry conditions and an application form in the future.
