OUR POWER – The Movie

a ripping yarn and Discussion Forum, Sunday 10.30am – 12.30om August 13 Daylesford Cinema.

The movie, by documentary producer and director Peter Yacono, has all the elements of a ripping yarn – except this is all true.  This remarkable film looks at the big picture of our political, economic and social systems around energy.

The importance of collaborative community ownership was evident when a group of courageous individuals began Australia’s first community owned wind farm.  The need for communities to ensure that essential ecosystem services can be renewed within a viable timeframe and are available at an affordable cost to the community is remains critical.  There are valuable lessons we can learn from the experience of the people from the LaTrobe Valley. What the director says

There are valuable insights to be gained from the Latrobe valley crew who have seen it all.  Yacono and the Latrobe valley community will join us for a forum after the show.  Join us for ‘Our Power’  Movie and Discussion Forum, Sunday morning, 10.30am August 13 at the Daylesford Cinema.

This event will lead into the next round of Carbon Free Community Conversations in October.
