Local Volunteers required for Hepburn Food Rescue Program

The Red Cross needs a volunteer for the role of Community Connect Facilitator for the Hepburn Region. This is an innovative model of food rescue created by SecondBite .

Red Cross, in partnership with SecondBite, is running a program which addresses the issue of food waste and increases access to fresh nutritious food for people living in disadvantaged communities.

The Volunteer Community Connect Facilitator will play a vital role, liaising with food donors and recipient agencies. They may also assist with the recruitment and training of volunteers for recipient agencies, will promote the program to potential food donors and support the Community Connect Programs Officer in the implementation of the program.

The Red Cross are seeking someone with a passion for food rescue and an ability to take initiative. Your high level organisation and administration skills coupled with your ability to work autonomously will win you this role. The Volunteer Community Connect Facilitators will need to be Hepburn based and be familiar with the local community.

This is an opportunity to drive a new initiative and give something back to your local community, while leaving a positive impact on the environment.
