Rod’s comments on the show and revues

‘There is plenty to laugh at here, and even more to take away. Rod says everything you want to say. Everything you want to scream. He’s right, but his show is more than just catharsis for greenies. Much more.’

Australian Stage

With our finite planet as the star of the evening Rod takes his hatchet of humour to the insanity of Growth. Rod says,

“The population is exploding while everything else is at breaking point: Food, water, oil, the very environment are lining up to deal a death blow to what we understand as life on earth. Our ignorance, denial and political incompetence fuelled by Peak People, Peak Oil, Peak Pollution, Politics and Profiteers. We must do something about population now if we don’t want cannibalism to be the solution in the future.”

It’s a grim thought, but with more and worse cyclones, floods and fires ahead, food production is bound to suffer. And even if it doesn’t, with oil in steep decline, how is it going to get to your table.  The time for motherhood statements and Pollyanna optimism is over and if you don’t believe that now, you will when Rod explains it to you.

‘Quantock is the archetypal wise fool adrift in a dark and dangerous world… very funny and very true.’
